2 Step Self-Care Routine at Home

Self-care isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ strategy. Neither is it a ‘luxury’ afforded in time. It’s an amalgamation of all the different needs in ‘your’ life that require addressing. Whether it’s prepping a healthy meal or rediscovering a relationship. It’s a personalised space where we find our highest form of self-expression. However, you can’t possibly tackle everything all at once. Often times identifying one small step is key in beginning to care for yourself better.

This article aims to provide a wholesome solution to the two most common wellness needs we all share- Adequate Nutrition and skincare. Try this easy routine to start your self-care journey at home that will have you feeling good and looking good in no time! Customize these recipes to suit individual requirements or use them as is.

Plant-based elixir of youth: That’s right! A miracle potion is suitable for all skin types. An overnight cellular repair face oil. It makes a wonderful addition to your bedtime routine. Naturally induces deep restful sleep, boosts collagen production, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fades dark circles, provides skin elasticity, increases blood circulation, relieves morning puffiness, prevents acne, fades blemishes, evens skin tone and relieves stress.

What it Contains

Lavender essential oil: Anti-inflammatory, fights acne, eczema and dry skin, evens skin tone, reduces wrinkles.

Geranium essential oil: Tightens skin, gently exfoliates and renews skin cells, fades dark spots, balances skin, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, relieves puffiness

Frankincense essential oil: Anti-ageing, minimises pores, assists sleep, treats acne, eczema, rosacea, dermatitis

Sandalwood essential oil: Firms skin, fades dark spots, anti-inflammatory, evens skin tone

Chamomile essential oil: Anti-inflammatory soothes irritation, anti-microbial, anti-oxidant

Carrot seed essential oil: Anti-oxidant, SPF benefits against sun damage, improved skin hydration, a multitude of reparative function

Cold-pressed Rosehip oil: Packed with anti-oxidants, promotes cell regeneration, deeply hydrates skin, powerful anti-ageing properties.
To prepare: Start by combining in a pre-cleaned 100ml dark/Amber glass dropper bottle:  

  • 30ml cold-pressed Rosehip oil
  • 6 drops of pure Carrot seed essential oil
  • 4 drops of pure Chamomile essential oil
  • 4 drops of pure Frankincense essential oil
  • 4 drops of pure Lavender essential oil
  • 4 drops of pure Geranium essential oil  
  • 2 drops of pure Sandalwood essential oil                                                         

Mix well and let it sit in a cool dark corner for up to three or four days until the oils have combined. Shake the bottle well before use. Apply generously on washed face and neck, spread well until fully absorbed.

To prepare: Combine in a high-speed blender. Probiotic of choice or unsweetened Oat/Soy/Almond milk 

  • Half cup Pumpkin Seeds 
  • 1 Tablespoon of Hemp Seeds, 
  • 1 Tablespoon of Chia Seeds 
  • 1 Cup of fresh Spinach leaves 
  • 1 Kale leaf 
  • 3 Ripe Bananas
  • 1 Celery stick
  • Half cup fresh Pomegranate Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of Amla powder
  • Half Apple chopped
  • Half Carrot chopped 

Garnish with mint and Lemon. Sprinkle pomegranate seeds on top and enjoy!
