Movie Review: Bullet Train (2022)

The Bullet Train on Prime Video (rent a movie) and Netflix (free).

Brad Pitt fans are in for a delight. The humorous plus sardonic face that doesn’t take anything too seriously is back. Cast as a contract killer undergoing therapy, Pitt delights throughout the movie with his over-the-top therapist quotes.

The Bullet Train is a 2022 film based on the book “Maria Beetle” by Kotaro Isaka. Isaka is a Japanese mystery fiction author and has sold millions of books worldwide. For those who love the style of Quentin Tarantino, this movie is a relish. An action comedy, which makes even spewing blood and gore seem funny, the movie stars Brad Pitt in a pivotal and completely off centre role of an assassin called Ladybug (code name). Other actors who leave an impression are Joey King, Hiroyuki Sanada, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds and the sweetest Channing Tatum plus a myriad of other characters, who in the high-speed bullet train, face their tumultuous, twisted and fateful dramas.

The movie seems theatrical, the twists and turns our linked to fate and the final end is hilarious. Directed by David Leitch, whose last movie Atomic Blonde I thoroughly enjoyed, now brings an even sharper action plus comedy packed 2 hour watch.

The script and the dialogues are cruel and witty. So for those of you who enjoy the combination, it will bring a smile to your face. Like in life, don’t take the moments in the movie too seriously, and you will enjoy the ride in the bullet train.

Definitely worth a rent.
