Triglycerides and Good Cholesterol Are Linked to Gut Bacteria

Everything is linked to gut bacteria! We have read about studies proving the link of auto immune conditions and anorexia to gut bacteria. Now as per American Heart Association, a link has been discovered between bacteria in the gut and body weight, triglyceride and good cholesterol levels. Researchers identified 34 specific digestive tract microorganism species that influence weight and lipid metabolism. So what do we do? For better cardiovascular health, check our gut. Bacteria living in our gut can impact weight, fat and good cholesterol levels, factors essential for maintaining a healthy heart.

So how do you do that? Good bacteria survives on good food: raw vegetables, fruits, specifically apples, cranberries, celery, coriander, carrots… and fermented foods like yoghurt, kefir, miso, kimchi etc. So up these in your diet. Also, get adequate sleep, reduce stress, and drink lots of water. Happy bacteria need a conducive environment to survive, so make your stomach and body a home for these little creatures that will keep your heart healthy!
