Kardarpur, Haryana, January 14, 2025: Kindness Practice Foundation conducted a cancer prevention camp at the Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Kardarpur, for the residents of the villages in and around Kardarpur, Haryana. The initiative was part of an all-India cancer prevention and awareness drive funded by the CSR initiative of Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd.(TFCIL) implemented by USEA.
More than 100 village residents from underprivileged backgrounds were tested using early diagnostics i.e. blood tests for common cancer markers along with breast cancer screening for the women as part of early cancer detection and prevention awareness. They also attended an insightful session on cancer awareness and prevention by cancer expert Dr Rachna Chhachhi. Dr Rachna explained common triggers for cancer and the steps that can be taken for the early detection and prevention of cancer in one’s life, she also addressed their personal health concerns brought up during an interactive Q&A session. Her book, You Can Beat Cancer, explains this in detail and is available on Amazon. Dr Yashasvi Singh from Navneet Healthcare was also present at the camp to provide free diagnosis for immediate health concerns.
“As part of the CSR initiative of TFCI, we are grateful to support cancer awareness CSR programs implemented by USEA and Kindness Practice Foundation for cancer prevention across India. This is the need of the hour, cancer statistics are rising, and awareness and early detection saves lives,” says Sanjay Ahuja, Senior Vice President & Company Secretary, Tourism Finance Corporation India.
The camp focused on nutrition and yogic breathing to reduce inflammation levels, as high inflammation is a risk factor for cancer. High inflammation is a risk factor for obesity, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes and cancer. The camp demonstrated breathing techniques and pranayamas to reduce inflammation and stress. The camp in Haryana is the third city in the cancer prevention drive by Kindness Practice Foundation. Haryana is one of the top five states with a high number of cancer cases in India, thus being one of our important locations to do this camp. Earlier, this camp has been conducted in Bavdhan village on the outskirts of Pune, and the CISF camp in New Delhi. Camps are scheduled for Kerala on January 28 which is also a top cancer state as per statistics, as well as in Mumbai with Mumbai Police on February 4, 2025, which is World Cancer Day. This is part of the ongoing all-India Cancer Prevention Camps by the Foundation as part of the CSR initiative by TFCIL.
“We at USEA were grateful to partner with Kindness Practice Foundation for the all India camps – with their expertise in cancer prevention, the right message is reaching the underprivileged and those who need these interventions,” said Prabodh Bhambal, Executive Director, USEA Trust.
