Affirmations have the power to make or break your reality, whether you realise it or not. A lot of what we experience or receive is a direct result of what we manifested for ourselves. It’s not all black and white, but most of it is.
Have you ever wondered why ‘power poses’ and ‘feel-good quotes’ even exist? To affirm us and remind us of all that we’re capable of. Believing in yourself is a way of affirming yourself, after all.
‘I am’ are the two most powerful words, for what you put after them shapes your reality.
Do you talk to yourself often? Because I do. ‘I am …’ these two little words (and what follows) possess the most incredible, life-altering power of any and all other words in the world.⠀⠀⠀
These mantras are a way to centre ourselves and brush away thoughts that are limiting us and remind us that we are not what others say. Especially when others’ thoughts are negative.⠀⠀⠀
Whatever you declare through your ‘I am’ statement attracts and initiates an incredibly creative process. Thus, producing and creating that particular event or circumstance in your life just as you declare it and believe in it.⠀
When you understand how and why certain tools and practices work to help you manifest, you add so much power to the practice.
Affirmations serve as tools for creating new beliefs. You will only manifest what you believe to be true about what is possible. These affirmations work because they help you store new beliefs in your subconscious mind through the process of repetition. Once you have a new set of beliefs in relation to your life, confidence, and self-worth – your outside reality will begin to mould itself to fit those new beliefs.
The two keys to using ‘I am’ affirmations:
Key 1: Don’t just say it, feel it
You must focus on what you want (thought/affirmation), tap into the feeling of already having it (emotion/feel as if), and believe that it is possible for you to manifest it into your life.
If you find it difficult to really feel connected to the words you are saying, keep going and keep repeating them. Eventually, the feelings will come and the beliefs will begin to form.
Key 2: Be consistent
Affirmations are not a one-time-only practice, they must be repeated DAILY. Your affirmation practice is rewiring your belief system as you go along. Don’t fall back into old patterns and habits – stay consistent. Remember that this is helping you create the reality you want for yourself.
Here are some of my favourite ‘I am’ affirmations:
- I am loved and blessed
- I am happy and healthy
- I am radiant
- I am enough
- I am capable
- I am secure
- I am confident
- I am courageous
- I am wealthy in all ways
- I am living the life of my dreams
- I am at ease with myself
- I am successful in whatever I do
- I am able to consciously manifest my future
- I am deserving and worthy of everything
- I am imaginative and my creativity flows effortlessly
I highly suggest reading through all of these affirmations and choosing the one that sticks out to you the most. Start your morning by saying whatever it is that gets you motivated and pumped for the day. End each night with a look back on how truly amazing the day was and affirm it to yourself.
Not because of this, that or the other thing but truly amazing because you got to be part of it.
